if you are experiencing any bugs in any mame games and wish to report your
bugs to mametesters (http://www.mametesters.org/), before reporting any bugs please remove your
hiscore.dat from your mame folder to see if the bug is hiscore.dat related, if it is hiscore.dat related
there is no need to report any hiscore.dat related bugs to mametesters.Only non hiscore.dat related
bugs should be reported.

I thought MAME removed hiscore support. I haven't followed MAME that closely recently, so is hiscore.dat support back again now? Or is this for an unofficial version only?

If you create a new *.ini with -cc you'll find hiscore.dat is still mentioned in there. That's what counts :)
