Is their anyway to use the artwork without reducing the size of the main game screen area.

For example.. verticle games like pacman have a black border either side is it possible just to see the artwork on the sides, so it doesnt reduce the screen size?

The artwork_crop option in mame.ini.

Thanks for the reply but...

The crop option does the reverse it removes the artwork from the sides of the screen and just leaves it (if their is any) on the main screen (gameplay area)

You can tell I haven't used that feature in a while... Probably the only way for now would be to make custom cut-up art zips which is way too much trouble unless it's for one of your favorite games or something. You should be able to do this easily with the new zoom feature though (once it gets added, it's a part of one of Aaron's future plans).

Thanks for the reply. I never thought of editing the artwork. Not really sure how it works but I will give pacman ago see how I get on. The zoom feature sounds like a great future feature.
