Awesome! Kyrandia was totally dope. Well, except for the part where you had to navigate the caves with fireberries -- that sucked if you didn't have the map.

Too bloody right, I had a nightmare with the jewels as well...

there are "everglowing fireberries" which you normally can't get in the game - when you have that you can just walk through the caves

(you can cheat to get them with the scummvm debugger)

The jewels? The part before the cave where you had to place jewels on golden dishes in the correct order? I vaguely remember...

I was about to reply with "hey, that's cheating!" but you know... it doesn't really matter. The caves were a stupid idea. The manual included a map so that helped a lot. Puzzles should be solvable without requiring you to die a zillion times.

If you were really persistent, you could actually map them out on a piece of paper, trying an alternate fork every time you died. Eventually you'd get the correct path... but by then, it would be too late because the very protons that make up your body would have decayed.
