I don't like the "point" system in Capcom vs SNK, but at least in the sequel it's there for gamers who like it, but you can just pick 3 characters if you don't like it.
SVC: Chaos, also is one on one and I prefer the tag matches, one on one fighting can get boring after a while, but with tag matches you can try different teams and have to be proficient with more than one character.
I still own console ports of all 3, CVS for the Dreamcast, CVS 2 for the Game Cube, SVC: Chaos for the XBOX...
