I've played the coin-op version but only as Akuma and Ken. Based on that, I agree the controls and feel is slower compared to the Capcom VS/ Street Fighter series but I was still able to perform all the special moves with no problem (including Akuma's super death move). It's definitely not the fast paced combofest of the Capcom series though and does feel more like an SNK/NeoGeo game graphically and controlwise. To me it felt like the Capcom based characters were missing something. It's like if you play as Ken, you expect a certain familiar SF feel to the controls, but instead you get some KOF-ized version with choppier controls. Then again, my favorite fighting games are actually the original 6-button layout, old school pure SF games.
