SubjectHow are the Bard's Tale games in XP? Reply to this message

I bought Bard's Tale today, oddly enough I can play it in 98SE even though it claimed to require XP/2000 *I missed that part of the box*...

Anyways, it comes with Bard's Tale I-III as a "bonus" and Bard's Tale III supports soundcards *I think Adlib/* , I was just curious to if you can get it to work in XP with Adlib sound?

I'm unsure if the Bards Tale Trilogy included in the pack have been modified or not, but they seem to run like the original versions?

I'm getting XP, it's on layaway, so even if the game stops working later, I'll restart it from a save, or if necessary, from scratch, but I thought it was a good deal for $3.99, 4 Bard's Tale games...

But damn, 6 gigs of game...WOW! and people think MAME eats hard drive space, yeah I know its huge if you include the hard drive images, but 6 gigs for one game is nasty...at least MAME is thousands of games...

I can't stand the beeping, but I don't see any options to make the beeping stop...It uses the PC speaker for "sound" that's even worse than Apple "music..."

in dosbox, there's a section in the config file:

[speaker]
pcspeaker=true

maybe setting it to "false" will get rid of it?
