SubjectFormer emu-authors and EmuGods...where are they now? new Reply to this message
Posted byrandem
Posted on03/22/06 10:36 PM

I recently was recalling some old emulation memories and came across some impressive names i haven't heard of in a long time.
Does anyone know if any of these people are still around or what happened to them? Most of them just dissapeared without showing any sign of life again.
In any way they should be honoured and not be forgotten..

For example:

RCP (Known of Trwin and KIAME/U64 fame. A true EmuGod. His emu-achievements were established in such a short period that people were crying fake all over the place. Last time i heard of him he was working with the MameDevs on some recompiler).

Epsilon (Reality64 and UltraHLE fame. Did he ever gave an interview after the lighting UltraHLE release? Did he ever re-appear? He seemed to have dissapeared as fast as he appeared).

ContraSF (Corn fame. At the time being the fasted N64 emu and it may still hold up. This Chinese guy gave some interviews and then went on some kind of business trip to be never heard of again).

Lemmy (how is he doing? It's been a while since his last Nemu64 depart).

StrmnNrmn (from Daedalus fame. If i'm correct he was a affiliated with a game company. I could be wrong though)

Randy Linden (Not really on my list of great or honoured authors at all,..but he did dissapear as one. Did he ever recover from the fall of Bleem? Last time he was rumoured to be on the run from some assasin hired by Sony ;) )

SMY, author of SMYnes/SMYgb. Perhaps not an emu 'god', but I liked his stuff.

His site at http://smy.billyjr.com/ said "BE RIGTH BACK :)" for 3+ years it seemed, before disappearing sometime after May 2005 according to archive.org. And I kept waiting, too. =/

I'd love to get in contact with him and possibly get a registered English copy of SMYnes (even if he still wanted payment for it. Yes I know of other, better emulators, yeesh. =)

^^^That arrogant source stealing prick got hired by EA like 6 years ago or so now. Not sure if he's still with them but that's where he went to when he quit working on those programs. Saw him at the 2001 E3 just because I recognized that stupid unique name of his on the EA badge. He was even arrogant and rude in person to the people around him when messing with Luigi's Mansion.

Which, by the way, I heard was a putrid game.

Does anyone know in which games he worked?

It's as if he had gone to work in the Hitman series, since those games always run with 3 or 4 times the framerate the others do :P

That emulator had some cool features that I only one other emulator, Ubernes, has implemented.
The automatic playing of the game in the file launcher.
