For the most part, no. Out of all the ROMS I have for the console emulators listed on my homepage, I'd say about 98% of them are for games that I owned/still own. I pretty much bought every game that interested me for each system I owned, going all the way back to the 2600 (back when the parents paid for the games), through to the N64. Even JPN games for PC-Engine, MegaDrive, and SFC, back when buying imports wasn't as common a thing to do.
I haven't bothered downloading the "complete sets" for anything, as I usually had a good reason for not buying a game when it came out (IOW, crap game). Off the top of my head, about the only one's I have now that I didn't have before are and FDS stuff, Dracula X (PCE), and Castlevania and Gradius 94 for X68000.
I haven't gotten into anything MSX or Amiga, or other systems I didn't own, except for the two games above.
On this same note, I feel no "extra joy" in playing pre-PSX console ports of arcade games, unless the console version had significantly different or additional gameplay compared to the arcade version.

RELAX and just have fun. Remember, it's all about the games. Mr. Do!'s Arcade
