looks like the hiscore.dat is back , i have uploaded the latest mame (0.113u2) with hiscore support added, along with the latest hiscore.dat.
you need both files to get hiscore support.
go here :-
http://www.mameworld.net/highscore/

updates will follow in the future.

IF ANY GAME DOES NOT WORK, DO NOT BUG ANYONE ABOUT IT.THE MAME YOU WILL BE USING IS TOTALLY UNOFFICIAL HENCE NOT ENDORCED BY MAMEDEV.

thanks to MKCHAMP for making this possible.

Nice to see its updated but the .113u2 download doesnt work at the moment ending up at the message:
'The file you requested, /highscore/mame0113u2.zip, does not exist.

The file has probably been moved to a new location. Please inform the webmaster that the link to /highscore/mame0113u2.zip on http://www.mameworld.net/highscore/download.htm is no longer valid.'

Hawq-
The reason the link does not work is that it has been taking down by Twisty per Haze's request. The build Leezer was posting is apparently not legal per MAME license. See the MAMEWorld forums for this information.

Leezer-
The above message to Hawq is applicable to you as well as knowing that MAME32FX, a legal build of MAME, has always utilized high score support and has not dropped it. See here:
http://mame32fx.altervista.org/features.htm

In respects to all of this I will say that it would be nice if save state support was added for all games instead of utilizing this avenue. On the other hand, IMHO the "best" compromise would be to have high score support for a game until that game('s driver) supported save state support. Just my 2 cents.

I believe so. However, if you post your inquiry here...

...You may receive a clearer response.

I think you're f***ed

Haze
----
"no source, no documentation, nothing.

I doubt Aaron gave him permission to use the mame name, and especially not put up a modified mame build simply called 'mame' either.

Its annoying enough that people try and keep this crap alive instead of adding proper save state support, but if they're not even going to try and take not of the license stuff etc. then I have no further words... "
