Can anyone give advice/instructions on how to use Clrmamepro3102a to fix roms that suddenly dont work in Mame116.2!

I've just updated from an older version of Mame to 116u2 and find that the following games wont load:

altered beast
battlezone
chase hq
continental circus (hasent worked for a long time)
cruisin world
double dragon (does not work in older version)
the empire strikes back
gauntlet
pole position
pole position II
shinobi
star wars (atari original)
strider 2 (hasent worked for ages)
tempest
virtua racing

On loading these games in Mame 116.2 I don't get any error messages but the system always crashes back to the user interface before the game finishes loading.

I've never used CLrmamepro before but having managed to scan my romset and getting messages regarding fixing and renaming of files, the roms still dont work when I load them in Mame116.2!

Am I missing/doing something wrong in Clrmamepro? Or do I need to download new roms?
