Gabest has done a lot of work on his on his graphics plug-in lately, gsdx9 is now at version 0.11.0:

The PCSX2 team has started to release public betas, which is pretty cool. The latest one runs faster for me than 0.9.4 did.

Best thing is the bug that made it impossible to pass 'make a star 3' in Katamari Damacy was fixed.

Also, all bugs in all Final Fantasy games ever released for the PS2 have been fixed. Just kidding.

My PC is a bit too ghetto and I'll probably need to overclock to score better framerates, I guess. I'm looking forward to finally being able to play Final Fantasy X since I've been meaning to play the US version for, like, 6 years now.

Great to see the SVN builds, though. Helps show that PS2 emulation is very much active and alive :)

I've played halfway through Katamari Damacy in PCSX2 already using gsdx9. There are some rogue polygon spikes here and there and sometimes you get stuck for no apparent reason and lose almost all the things you've rolled up. But it pretty much works.

I'm getting 20-40% speed in-game on a P4 3.4GHz with a Geforce 7600GT. A pretty cool thing I discovered as well is that when using Pete's SPU plug in, the music and sfx gets priority so that it doesn't skip and stays in perfect sync with the action.

I guess anyone with a C2D CPU and a reasonable video card should be fine, following customary 5-10 minutes of PCSX2 tweaking :-)

Also, this thread occasionally contains some interesting info/help:

Make sure to take your anti-lamer pills before you dive in though.

I've found that setting the 'internal resolution' in the gs plug-in to match what the game runs at (as reported on the window frame) gives a good speed boost.
I'm not sure yet if this is the really just the same as ticking the 'native' checkbox.

Pay attention to menus and videos running at higher resolutions than the game itself - pick the res that you see when you're in-game. Then pick a full screen mode close to that as well afterwards - running in full screen mode gives a boost as well.
