SubjectCPS3 Emu from command line Reply to this message

Does anyone know if its possible to run the "nebula" CPS3 emu from a command line prompt? This isn't something I have any experience with (with any emulator) but recently I built a home theatre PC for the usual movies \ music stuff and chucked the emulator on their just for kicks - I was really suprised at how tasty it looked and ran...

..with front USB ports for gamepads and arcade sticks (hidden under a front flap) it suddenly occured to me this would make a nice little "living room arcade machine" - I just need to find a way of launching the emu without having to manually select roms, settings so on and so forth.

Is this possible?

hmm.. I'm beginning to think a simple application that allows you to control the windows mouse with a gamepad could just be a quicker dirtier solution - anyone have any ideas?

MAME might suit your needs better.

Great little program. It was a life saver when my mouse ps2 port went kaput.

All work and no play makes me..., well, you know the rest.

Yeah you're probably right, trouble is - I have a deep dark hatred for it, for anyone who doesn't dedicate their life to visiting emulation sites every day, the whole thing is just baffling, different websites, different versions, it would probably take me about 3 years to work out how to run anything from a command line and at that point I'd suspect my roms wouldnt work because MAME would require some kind of different set. I imagine after all that it would probably run CPS3 a lot slower as well.

I reckon mame would be better once everything was all set up - but getting it set up sounds like a nightmare.

Especially now that it has it's own built-in minimal UI (if you double click the command-line exe). It's just a lot of information.

Lots of helpful folks on the Mameworld msg boards that'll help you out, including the Devs.

just "mame -showusage" which will display all of the command options or "mame -showusage >cmdline.txt" which will create a txt file of the showusage as cmdline.txt in your mame dir.
