iMame was written specifically for the iPaq. But it was written with an older version of Mame. It may run faster because the older code had less games to emulate and therfore less complexity. On the down side, it requires older versions of the roms and may have difficulty being updated for future games. Gandalf did a great job with it, but only he knows if it will be upgraded.

On the upside, MameCE3 is being rewritten as we speak. I'm hoping for speed improvements but won't know until I finish the Display routines. Keep your eye out for a new release :)
