First of all, mamece3 is much more fast on my jornada than ever. Thanks
Second, When I tried to play Galaga in MegaMame, the keys doesn´t work.
Third, It was said that maybe the next release of Mame will suport Targus Keyboard for the jornada. Or the other way is to have the same key selector of PocketNes.
Thanks for this great software !!!

Good to here. I don't have a Jornado so I couldn't test the new release.

> Second, When I tried to play Galaga in MegaMame, the keys doesn´t work.
Galaga uses 3 processors and is a processor hog to boot. You can try holding the keys in for a few seconds,I suspect it might register the coin but I also suspect it is still to slow to play, unfortunately.

Actually I said I might support the keyboard in some future release After they release one for the iPaq. I think I saw the release just yesterday but it still might be a few releases before you see support. (I need to get one, then I need time to work with it etc).

I don't know how PocketNES did the key support, I'll have to check it out, but I don't know if that was open source or not.

Glad you enjoy it. :)

In PocketNes when you set the keys, It catches the hexadecimal address of that key, I don´t know how but I tried with the targus keyboard and it works fine.
I hope It gives you some idea.

Thanks

Tekhmaster,
I am using the Targus keyboard on the iPaq, keys work great! What do you mean it's not supported?

I just go into the mame configure menu after I run a game. It comes up with the list of buttons etc.. I just hit the key on the keyboard to assign the stuff, just like you configure the buttons. Works awesome!

Actually the SH3 release is just as fast as the Casio version. I did frame counts a couple months ago and for the most part the SH3 was on par with the current 150mhz MIPS. Go figure.

No slower than it is on the E125 and EM500. The problem is the mapping of coins and game start to button three. I took a Galaga config file from the Casio and remapped coins to button four (I think, it has been awhile since I did that). Using the new config Galaga worked fine. All I know is Galaga, and few other games have this problem but can be worked out with different configs which leads to my next response request..

I would think if the Mame config menu was added to a future release the need for this button remapping option would be moot. The HP Game Pad option already takes care of some of this but again with the some games not working because I guess the game's default mappings differ from what is defined in MameCE3 for the Jornada the flexibility just isn't there all of the time. Of course I haven't tried the newest release so maybe you already addressed the Mame config menu.

Depends on which unit you have. The directions are in the readmece.txt file.
