You are using MameCE3 correct? (none of the others will work on the Jornando).
Be sure to keep a meg or 2 free for storage just to be safe.
have you enabled the game key mapper in the control panel? Not sure where But I know it needs to be enabled.
What games are you trying to play? Try frogger, tempest, or puckman, these are known to run well. If these run ok, it might be the game has difficulties. Also make sure you have a good romset.
