Has anyone looked into porting MESS to Windows CE? Since MAME and MESS are built out of the same source tree, it would seem like the existing MAMECE rendering and sound code could be used in a MESS port.

If this was done, not only would we have a fully working Commodore 64 emulator on the PocketPC, but we'd get other things like the Vectrex, etc. that have yet to be emulated on CE.

Just a thought...

Its a good idea. I just don't have enough time allocate to it.
Some of the Mess code was stripped out during rebuilding of the current versions. So it will require a comparison and reintegration of the Mess code.

Maybe this summer if I ever get all the current bugs cleaned up in MameCE3, I can turn attention to it.
Only time will tell.
