Techmaster, I freed up enough memory 17MB and still have the same problem with no sound and the screen returning to the main. Also removed StarTap thinking that this could be causing a problem. Any other suggestions or reason this could be happening (registry errors, program conflicts etc) would be appreciated. I'll settle for bad sound as beggers can not be choosers.
