If you recently recieved the Mobileplanet Catalog and decided to buy the neat Harmony Compact Flash Wireless Card for you Casio or iPaq, you may want to cancel it.

After reading and rereading the description, it appeared to me as if this card was compliant with most office standards ie 802.11b, it is NOT! The descriptions mentions wandering around the ofice or the house without wires and the only restriction mentioned in the Specs were Casio/iPaq and Type 2 slot. Not a single word about needing their Harmony Access point as well.

Unless you also have one of their propriatary Harmony or Symphony Access points, the card will not work. I have 2 different Dlink models and couldn't get them work so I called Tech support at Harmony. They confirmed that this device is not 802.11b compliant and they have no idea if and when it will be.

Just thought I'd let you all know, just in case you had the same misconception due to Mobileplanet's bad advertising. It's very upsetting to get a new toy and not have it work.
:(

I'm not totally out of luck since my Orinoco Gold PC Card still works in my iPaq but it would have been nice to put the Casio on wireless as well. Guess I'll have to wait for the Symbol one due out any week now.

Cheers,
