Since the HP Jornada 548 doesn't have a gamepad for easy up/down/left/right movement, it would be a great enhancement to MameCE to support the Targus keyboards to use the regular PC Mame keyboard commands. There have been a few special promotions that packaged a free keyboard with the HP, so I'm sure there are a lot of keyboards out there.

Great work converting MAME to handheld CE

A keyboard input would definitely be great.

Note to Techmaster: currently on Jornado & targus keyboard, these keys respond: [5] adds coins; [left arrow] moves left; [right arrow] moves right; [p] pause; did not have any luck with up/down or fire buttons though.

Thanks for the info.
I'll look into testing this in the future. On the Casio and Compaq you can open Mame UI and reprogram the keys just like the desktop version. I'll have to figure out how to add at least that capability in a future build for HP.

Cheers,
