I have seen a few posts in this regard, but still have not been able to troubleshoot my problem. gx.dll is in the \Windows directory, and the rest of my directories are as follows:

\My Device\Program Files\MAMECE\
Roms are in
\My Device\Program Files\MAMECE\Roms\
dkong.zip
pacman.zip

Both of them show up on the select screen, but, when I try to Play the game, I get a black screen for a few seconds, followed by a return to the menu screen.

This is a manual install of MameCE 9.1, not the Mega version (cannot use the auto-installer because my desktop runs Win2000)

Try checking the amount of free program memory. Try to make say 10MB available and see if it works.

Thank you for the suggestion; I have adjusted my program memory allocation from 10 MB up to about 29 MB, and still the same results. (The ROM images were those from mameworld, incidentally, if that helps.)

I have the same black screen problem. Is your IPAQ color or black and white? If you figure out a way to make the games work let me know.

Same problem, I'm afraid. Posted above titled R-Type Leo. I'm running Mega, with an Ipaq (Color) with 64 MB... There is approximately 23+ megs for program usage, so I don't get what's wrong. As before the games show up in the menu, but then I get the black screen and bumped back to the main menu screen. Any advice
