There is a thread at Brighthand in the Monochrome Ipaq forum regarding compatible applications and some games are mentioned. The thread mentions PocketGB, ZioGolf2, TankZone2000, Microsoft Arcade Pak, and PocketSlay, among others.

TBoneWalker enhanced Quake and GnuBoyCE to work. Both are available at his site, http://mason.gmu.edu/~twilbur1/programs.html

The site also has source code examples of how to handle the monochrome Ipaq.

A small Lemmings clone is available too, from Phantom (Jakko Bikker). His website keeps moving, but currently is at http://pocketmatrix.com/phantom/
Check pocketgamer.org for his new address if he moves. Again, source code is available.

In general, few games work. There is no reason games can't be made to work by their developers, aside from the extra effort needed to detect and handle the 3135/3150 specially and to convert color graphics to grey scale.

Personally, I have hacked up PocketColeco to work on monochrome, but frequently find colors difficult to distinguish, making it difficult to play some games. Also, the monochrome screen changes slower than the color screens do, so moving sprites are often faint or blurry. MAMECE will have the same issues when it is modified.

Is there any update on the status of MameCE on the mono-IPaq? I'm looking for a decent game of Shaolin's Road. That game shouldn't be too hard to convert to run.
