Hi Techmaster, great work on the latest version!

I read from an earlier post that you plan to put a virtual keyboard into MAMECE in the next version. I was wondering if I could pass on a couple of control ideas that have been bugging me. After trying to play games with several different emus on my iPaq it's clear two things would make playing games a lot easier:

The first is auto fire for buttons. Since only 1 keypress can be made at a time on the iPaq it would be handy to avoid having to bash the buttons, which brings me to the other thing I think could help, the ability to toggle buttons on and off, so for example you could toggle the run button in Mario Bros. so that Mario always runs, rather than trying to hold run down with the stylus and use the machine's buttons for jumping, which is fiddly...

I think this could really help iPaq users, and possibly any other pocketpc owners too. I don't know how robust the touch screens are but I often worry about the rapid "jabbing" I often do in order to play some of the nes and gb games.

Do you think these ideas might be worth looking into?
Cheers,
PhotoBoy

Every idea is worth investigating :)
The question is will it pan out to something usable. I like your ideas and share your concerns.
WIll have to see if I can implement some of them.

Autofire would kick ass! Please add this feature, I beg you!

It would make MameCE usable on the iPaq, rather than just something to have for 'cool-factor'.

I wanna play 1942 on the train ride home!!
