Just wondering if/when we will see an update to MAMECE that brings it in line with the latest 0.56 MAME sources? The current sources are more than 6 months old, and many changes and fixes have gone into the MAME core since that time.

Thanks.

It seems like the more current the version of the Mame core the slower it runs on the PocketPC. Take iMame for example: it uses Mame core .26 ( and some pieces from some other cores for sound) and games get 60 fps on the iPAQ. It is so smooth. The same games on Mamece3 which is based on .36 gets 15-20 fps. Mameboy which is based on .35 runs much better on my Casio than Mamece3. Just one version and many beta builds difference seems to go a long way on performance. I think an upgrade would only slow it down further. But that is just my opinion. I think I would rather see a fix for the 68000 games instead.

Actually I made one attempt already but it failed. So many changes in the newer cores. I will need to devote some real time to it to get it working. Maybe over the Xmas holidays.:)
