I know I keep asking this every six months but...

What are the current best PocketPC options (Joypad extensions, native joypad etc) around for running games, in the opinion of people here?

And what is the performance of Genesis, SNES and Arcade Game emulation on various PocketPCs?
It's the future baby! I NEED SOME SPARE TIME!!!

Well, it's pretty much the same as before. ARM based units are faster, while Casio EM500 is very cheap now. I'm waiting for the new XScale processor based devices to come along before considering a new purchase.

I take it StrongARM is the same series of computers as the ARM7DTP..ARM7DPMT...ARM7DMT.. the GBA's cpu?

Which is the PocketPC based on ARM which has the best joypad (multiple button presses, most like a console joypad)? Or if there is none, which has the best joypad add on?

ARM processor used in todays pocket PCs is an Intel variation of ARM architecture and I don't think it has much to do with the series which is used for GBA CPU. This processor is marked as SA-1110 and is also much faster than the one in GBA. ARM7TDMI used in GBA is 16.78Mhz, While SA-1110 is 206MHz. (Granted, GBA has an extra graphics processor on top of the main cpu)

I think new Jornada and new Casio are the best contenders for the best gaming ARM pocket PC. However, both these PPC's have screen that is very inferior to the one on Casio E125 or EM500 when used indors. Granted, E125 and EM500 can hardly be used in the direct sunlight where new models have no problem at all. Also, new Jornada had a lot of problems with dust collecting under the screen. I'm not sure if they've fixed this in the meantime, but it looks like the reflective screens are generaly plagued with this problem. You really have to test every device for yourself - at least to hold it and look at the screen before decising. Otherwise you may regret the purchase, no matter what you decide.
