I have a jornada 720 and use it with activesync 3.5 on my laptop with XP pro. I have a 256 meg cF in my jornada too. I install the MEGAMameCE3 9.3 to my jornada and then when i try to run it i get "Cannot find 'MEGAMameCE3' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available." I have it installed onto my cf card. Any ideas? Thanks?

maybe the problem is because it's installed ion your cf card. Try to install it on the device.

I tried to install it to my main storage memmory too. It still gives the same error. Is this a problem that you see with the h/pc?

Thanks

I'm not sure, but you should have gx.dll for GAPI lib in your /windows directory. If you have this file, I don't know what is the problem... I hope this is your problem :)

The problem is that MameCE3 is not compatible with the Jornada 700 series (also known as Handheld Pocket PC's). There is a version design for HPC but I believe it's still in alpha stage. Any way here is the link.

I was not even looking at the fact that it is for the POCKET PC. I just saw the arm processer version and grabbed that one. thanks for the info. Now i wonder what the driver is that it wants and if i could just grab that from a pocket pc. thanks for thelink but that mame is not worth it because you cant store games on a CF. BUT it is good to know it is being worked on.

Since Jornada 680 does not run ARM, is there a version compatible with 680's SH3?

I have Darren's MAME running on a MIPS-based HPC, so you might try recompiling. In my case, it was "just" a matter of recompiling the code and setting the appropriate keycodes and maybe the video buffer starting address.
:-)

Note that I don't have any way of knowing if there are any special difficulties with the HP Jornada units, I'm just speculating that it "should" work. Sometimes I think that half the work was fighting with the compiler (or is that learning how it works? :-) ).
