Is there any coordinated effort to test MameCE3? To list which roms work, maybe even on which machines, etc.?

Not as far as I know. However when I release the next version based on the new code base, I may do some testing myself. I plan on removing games that still do not work, to start. This will reduce the exe size and help keep the size down at a minimum. It will also help answer that question, "what games work in MameCE3" ;)

I would remove the games that use the 68000 chip for starters. All they ever do is produce abends. Unless of course the move to the latest core fixes the problem. Some think those games that use the 68000 processor would run too slow on a PPC, but personally I do think some 68000 games would run decent on the ARM based machines at least. If those abends can be resolved I would keep the games in the mega build then.

Also if you get the time could you look at the landscape routine again. I noticed some games do not go into landscape mode. I think the reason why is when the 'Y' resolution is greater than 320 it technically cannot fit in landscape mode so it will default to standard portrait mode then. Is there any way to center the game in landscape if the 'Y' resolution is greater than 320 so it will stay in landscape? A good example to test with is Buster Bros and Lode Runner.

I too want to say thanks for keeping the Mame dream alive for us PPC owners. Your next update sounds very promising.

Thanks for your feedback.
I think the next release will solve alot of problems related to crashes and lanscape v portrait mode.
Also if the game will run (even if its a 68000 CPU) I will include it in the Mega build. The goal is to have a playable min version, and a playable max version (playable being by my perspective :)

Plus we have better graphic routines and faster CPU speeds coming soon. It wil be most interesting to see what comes next. :)
