SubjectMap buttons on Audiovox Maestro? new Reply to this message

Somewhat comparable to an iPaq, from what I've been told, has a 206 mHz StrongArm CPU, but has 5 buttons, plus you can press the directional keypad for a "6th" button. Buttons work ok for PocketNES (i.e., the right-most 2 buttons are jump and shoot, etc.), Doom, and Quake, but jumping in Crazy Kong, for example, is currently mapped to pressing the directional keypad - not very efficient. Can I change this? Do I have to compile it myself? Is it a config change w/ the Maestro itself (i.e., redefine in "Settings", "Buttons"?)

Did a search on this board and found out that I can map them to whatever I want via the "setup" (or "menu")option I get by pressing one of the other buttons.

Glad you found the simple fix :)
The other solution would be to run a little app I have that id's the device and the key mapping codes.
Email if you get a chance and I will send you a copy of the apps. This will put your device in the standard support list if it works correctly :)

Actually it appears that the Audiovox/Genio shares the same offsets as the iPAQ. That was actually a smart move on Toshiba's part, if it was intentional.

How do you map them? Everytime I push any button the menu comes up but I can't change the mapping.
