But the binaries are never portable, of course. The source code still could be - I have done this before.
It is potentially as portable as the current system.
BTW, with respect to the button issue on the Ipaqs (which is a really stupid hardware design), there is a solution used in the game Rayman which is rather clever. Two 'soft' buttons are shown on screen, and they are pressed instead of the real buttons. Thus, the movement and button pressing can be done at the same time.
