SubjectResolution to Toshiba e310? new Reply to this message

I'm looking into the Toshiba e310 and I was wondering if there was a resolution to the button mapping problem stated in an earlier post. Further, in my review, I read that there was a problem with this device with respect to the simultaneous button/D pad input. Is this true? That would make gaming difficult like with the earlier models of Ipaq. Thanks in advance for the info.

Tekhmaster, while I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy MameCE as of yet, I appreciate your efforts in answering my earlier inquiries. I hope to enjoy this program some time in the near future when I can scrape money together to purchase my next PDA.

Hello,

I would be very interested in getting your .exe too
It's very very frustrating not to be able to fire on your
favorite game

Do you know if there is any plan to upgrade MameCe3 for the
toshiba e310 ?

Thanks in advance

I could really use this file from someone as well. Also, could I ask what you did to "fix" the exe (like, do you need to play with the source and recompile, or is there an easier way?)? I have a similar problem with TG16 emulation on the e310 it would seem, only it's the start button that is mis-mapped :(. Thanks!

Yes, unfortunately you cannot use the direction pad and buttons together . And the auto-repeat makes arkanoid a little jerky . The best way to avoid all that would be to
use the stylus

I compiled a version of MameCe3 and MegaMameCe3 for
toshiba with a correct mapping for the fire button

if you want one of them
let me know
lamorlette@pacbell.net

I send the Key Codes to Techmaster and I hope he will include the toshiba e310 in his next release.

I had thought that the D pad and button simultaneous input problem was with only one of the buttons. I didn't realize it was for all of the buttons. That's a bummer since most games require an action key for jumping or firing. Am I right to conclude that this is a problem solved only by Toshiba rather than something that could be modified in MameCE? If so, then this device for all intents and purposes, will not be good for most games.

Oh, by the way, thank you for your work with the button remapping. I actually do not own an e310...yet. I'm waiting for prices to come down a bit. Had a chance to get it at $300 last week, but the urge to get it didn't catch up with the opportunity. Still on the sidelines for now.

After reading your post I had some doubts
and I checked for other button than 0xC4
and yes using the D pad with other button at the same time
doesn't work

I've currently 2 binaries for toshiba with a working fire button
mameCe3.exe and megamameCe3.exe. Since, several of you are wanting it
I would appreciate if anyone knew where I could store them
on an internet site to be downloaded .

O tekhmaster , would you allow me 2.5 megas to store zipped toshiba versions of your software , ( waiting for your next release )

Let me know !

Could I get a copy of the modified executable as well? It would be great if you could email it to me at dstocks@foothill.net

Thanks, Don

Yes Toshiba support will be implemented as soon as i get free time to add the changes to the official release. Vacation time is coming up and I usually spend alot of time programming during that time. So hang in there. :)
