I just bought a Toshiba e740. Has anyone gotten MAMECE to work on one? I have been unsuccessful. I fly on planes a lot and get bored with Solitaire! HELP!

Sure does. I just installed the MegaMameCE3 binary along with some ROMs I had (Ms. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Pac Man, others). It runs slowly. Ms. Pac Man and Pac Man were playable, but the others were too slow, especially with sound enabled. The directional button is also slow to respond. Maybe a version can be created for the XScale processor eventually?

I am receiving a Toshiba e740 tomorrow. I would really love to play some of my MAME games on it. Any advice from anyone would be apprecated. I can get the MegaMAMECE and roms on the PDA, but how do you start a game? On the PC it's the "5" Key and then the "1" Key. How does it work on the Toshiba?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I just bought the e740 tonight to test it out with MameCE3. On my iPaq3835, it works great. The sound is a little messed up and Donkey Kong has to be played with the sound off for it to play smoothly. On the e740, however, there is marked slowdown. The unit stutters noticeably, the sound is terrible, and the buttons are not mapped appropriately. I believe these problems are due to the fact that MameCE3 was written for the StrongARM architecture and not for xScale.

Please, will someone recode MameCE3 for the xScale architecture?
