I am running MegaCE3 on my Jornada 568 and love it! It works great for most of of the games I have tried. But there are some games (Defender, Zoo Keeper, Qix, Joust etc.) that seem to work but start up in system config or test mode and I can't get them to play. The only key that seems to work in this mode is the button to return to the main Mame menu. None of the other buttons seem to have an effect to navigate the particular game's test menu or kick it back out to normal game operation.

It sounds like many many people with the same Jornada are playing these games without difficulty. What is the trick to fix this? I have looked for a .cfg file but have not found a general one in the mame directories on the Jornada. The game files (e.g., defender.cfg) seem to be in a binary format rather than something I can edit in notepad.

I'm not sure if its the correct way, but these two ways worked for me.

The first is to install mame on your desktop and run the game you are having a problem with. Then copy the .cfg file that was created for that game from the cfg directory(desktop) to the cfg directory on your PocketPC.

The second is to buy a keyboard. I found a real cool one that folds up called Stowaway.

Oppss... The keyboard thing does not work properly so use the first suggestion.

I cant get defender to work either.
On the desktop I can press F3 and this is configured as the system reset button so defender reloads out of config mode.
You mentioned that you can copy a .cfg file for the game.
Unfortunately the versions of Mame I run on my desktop use .ini files (which are easy to reconfigure) I can't find any .cfg files to copy across
Which version do you use?
And have you had any more luck.
