SubjectEnabling sound and game speed Reply to this message

I apologize if this question has already been addressed, but I combed through the forums and didn't see anything like this. First off, I just got a 400 mhz Dell Axim, and installed the latest verson of MAMEce on it. While it seems to run just dandy with the default settings, everytime I try to enable sound, game speed cuts in half. I've tried closing all other running programs and soft reseting to clear up memory, but nothing seems to work. I'm guessing sound emulation just isn't fast enough yet in general to have full speed gameplay, but I wanted to know if I may be wrong, and what methods I could try to fix it? Thanks.

Yes, I don't think sound emulation has been optimized yet. I also have tried with no success to run any games with sound on my HP Jornada and have had no luck. It just runs too slow.

You are correct. Sound emulation and the hardware to support it are not up to snuff yet. Maybe more so the Code than the hardware but I do have plans to keep working at it. :)
