Hi everybody, I have an ipaq 5400 and I installed MegaMameCE3. Games like frogger or Donkey Kong seem to run fine, but ONLY when I run them Without sound, as soon as I activate the sound the games run so slow that they become unplayable.

I am not running any other app before running MAME,
I am supposed to have a little less than 64MB of memory availabe, what can be wrong?

Other lets say, more complicated games, like Galaga run extremely slow, even WITHOUT sound.

What can be wrong? should I try removing the MEGA version and install the one that supports less games?? I see many options, like flicker and other stuff, any advice on how can I make games run faster and WITH sound??

Thanks so much

Unfortunately the slowness is in the source (and Harware) and nothing you can do as a user will speed things up.
I am working on newer source that will hopefully help.

The hardware is something we cant do anything about, until Graphics acceleartors exist for the PocketPC we are restricted to the oldr slower games and speeds.
Im always tuning however so anything is possible.

Techmaster:

What if you did a "tiny" compile for just 1 game (e.g. Galaga)? Would that make it playable w/ sound?

if you have ipaq pda try imame - galaga with sound work ok (and other games compiled for it too, expl: mr.do, bagman, frogger, pacman, galaxian, donkey kong... etc) - i've try on hp 4150
PPS. Sorry 4 my horrible language - i never learn this one
