SubjectASUS A620 and sound? Reply to this message

Hello!
I bought a A620 to play Mame but the sound doesn't work properly. Can I do something to make it better or is it the emulator? I have tried others emulators like PocketSNES and the sounds work great.

I know what you mean the sound appears very muffled. Could be the amount of channels on the Pocket PC ? I also have the same problem with some of the latest GBA games

Its a pity about the sound but yeah its cool on the Asus. If you have MegamameCE theres tons of games to possibly play, finding the right game is tough as theres so many different builds of 0.36 roms it seems but i've found about 40 or so at the moment and theyre working superbly

I have an A620 now, and it's awesome to finally see MAME running 60fps full speed on a PPC. :)

The sound is crappy, I think mainly because Tehkmaster hasn't worked on MAMECE3 in a while. I bet if he had an A620 he could clean the sound up since it has the power to do MAME properly given some tweaking.

A620 is an emulation dream machine tho, it's better than I expected, especially coming from my recent bout with the Zodiac. I didn't think the controls on the A620 would good, but they're not bad at all. Really nice PocketPC overall and the first really great gaming PocketPC in my opinion.

Well maybe as more and more PPC's can run MegamameCE very well i hope that he can do some more work on it ! I've got a ton of roms which load up, say press OK etc etc then it crashes and either returns to the mame menu or exits
altogether which is a pity.

The sound problem i dont mind, i can still play a ton of games but theres some others i would love to play.

Happy as hell with it, would love to see more work done on it though as i think more and more people will be using it now

Yes, its really fantastic to play MAME on A620. But I have the same problem as "disgruntleelf" in earlier post. Sometimes the games freeze and I must reset. That happen in several games(mspacman,qbert,1942,donkey kong).
Any suggestion why?

I spoke to Techmaster and at the moment he is actively looking for a job so that obviously takes priority. He will be working on updates in the future once his job situation is sorted though

I did crash at the end of Level 1 on Green Beret, 1942 seems to be fine though. I've got about 30-40 roms working , my favourite being Bombjack and Commando
