with the regular (Windows Mame32) version of MAME, Joust (and Defender, Stargate, Joust2, etc) loads up with a grainy graphics screen, then the "Factory Setting restored" screen. At this point, you need to press the F3 key to reset the game & go to the regular title screen (Joust logo + high scores). Since the Pocket PC does not have a dedicated F3 key, you can assign it, but BEWARE, you may screw up your other settings and this is a PERMANENT key assignment...........you have been warned.....
