Running MegaMameCE3 9.5
Tested on Dell Axim X3i/400 running Mame and Roms from a 256MB SmartCard Storage card
I do not have any Roms, please do not ask me for them.
Pocket PC's use a 240x320 screen resolution, which is great for "upright" and verticaly oriented games.
When playing horizontal oriented games, I often get a system crash, due to an incompatible screen resolution. I may experiment with NYDITOT Virtual Display in the future.
All of these use old (required) MAME ver. 36 Roms and Sound Samples
Sound is underdeveloped, but working
Even though Mame version 0.36 supports large Roms (+1 MB), it is unlikely anything that large will play properly, if at all. The largest Roms I have seen working are Arkanoid 2 (307k), Rolling Thunder (324k), and World Cup 90 (374k)
I do not know if this is a CPU, size, or resolution issue.
I am running Mame32Plus 0.81 on P4 2.4 Gz Dell with Hanaho Hotrod SE controller & WinXP Home
Mac Mame 0.77u2 G4/1 Gz PowerMac OSX

I've managed to get Dragon Spirit working which is a 1 meg game.

Also New Zealand Story (436 k) and Renegade (374k) all work.

Bombjack still is my favourite though ! Has anyone got any games such as Nemesis or R-Type working ?

There is a know problem with Keymapping saves (Reconfigure Game Keys). If you reconfigure, MAME CE3 does not "remember" the settings automatically. It does, however store the settings. After you have created a preferred keymap the first time you run MAMECE, every time you run MAMECE again you will have to select the "Reconfigure Game Keys" option, and select "Save Changes". It's not as bad as it sounds, it's just a quick keystroke to do this.
The more ROMS you have, the longer it will take to load MegaMameCE3.
MegaMAME CE3 likes to crash (freeze and lock up) a lot. I can play for about 10-20 minutes, then I have to perform a soft reset (reboot) of my Pocket PC. Some games will completely crash my Dell Axim and force a soft reset and power off my backlight!

There is a way to play Joust, Joust 2, etc... (although u may still not want to play them see results below) by using the reset game in the VI Menu screen. Assign one key for VI Menu and one key for VI Enter. When the game say "factory settings restored" hit the VI Menu key and select "game reset". Press the VI Enter key and wait for the game to start back up. The Title Screen will appear. However....

1. Joust - very playable but doesn't entirely fit screen.
2. Joust 2 - sllllooooowww reallllly slllllooow and I cant prevent a ghost player 2 from joining the game at start up.
3. Sinistar - very playable though difficult to control.
4. Defender - 3 buttons, fire, thrust, smartbomb only - GOOD LUCK!
5. Stargate - see above.

Hi! Galaga is working in my IPAQ h4350, only need to adjust keys, you cannot re-use fire buttons.

on may i've ipaq 4150 and tested some games on clean system - i've find some bigger size that work (once work, once not (over size limit you mentioned but never find more than 2MB) - but when start then work OK (but some of them slow)- im sure because i've leave them for future use, when buy my own pda):
