When I choose a game, the screen goes black for 15 seconds then comes back to the mame screen. This is like this for all of the games. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem on my Ipaq, except that after going blank for a few seconds, a scroll bar shows up on the right, then returns back to the main screen. Does yours do this?

I figured out that I did not have any ROMS loaded. I copied the *.bin file to \mamece\roms, however, when I load mamece, it does not show any roms available. Any ideas?

Try this. Delete the current game set in your ROM file. Go to a search engine like Hotbot and type in mame roms. Save the individual game into your ROM file and this should work. Let me know.

The Rom File should stay zipped up. The program unzips them into memory as needed.
Let me know how this works. I'm curious to see the performance on the new casio.

I've tried it on my E-200 and it works fine. This is the first time that I have tried running MAME on a PocketPC so forgive the following comments if they are out of line. I tried playing Galaga and it was so slow it wasn't worth playing. Is this normal? If not, what should I try to speed things up a bit. It is running about 1/4 speed if I were to estimate.

Galaga is not a good one to test. It uses 4 processors plus sound processors.
To really test try some of the older games such as frogger, crazy kong, tempest, or mr do.
These run very well.
Also select 'show frame rate' to see an on screen performance monitor.

Tried Pacmania and Rampage on my Casio E200, and on both, the screen went blank, Pacmania then returned a message "Application MegaMameCe3.exe has performed and illegal operation... Exception:0xc0000005 Address: 000434f8"
Rampage just goes blank for a bit before returning me to the menu selection screen.

Help!

hi..

i've recently acquired a cassiopeia e 200 and have spent the last week trying to get it all working...

i finally found a download of the autoinstaller, got gyruss to work [with funny colours] and crashed with tempest and arkanoid.

i have enough memory and think i'm doing everything correctly [but prob not].

my question is:
are the problems i'm having probably got to do with my particular model [ie i should just stop now and wait for newer builds [or another pda]] or has anyone seen it working on the e200? [and i should just try harder ;)]

because it is taking up a lot of my time. [work goddamit!]

thanks to everyone involved for at least making the possibility of it happening, kudos to tekhmaster et al, but i would really really like to play my roms while i travel.

thx
