I have a few questions about this emulator, if someone wouldn't mind answering them. :)
First off, I picked up a Dell Axim X3 w/ a 300 MHz XSCALE processor, will be arriving sometime this week hopefully. I intend to do some heavy-duty overclocking on it, and I'm expecting some pretty nice emulator performance. So, MAME came to mind. Let me say I'm very glad someone has made the effort to create a port like this one.
So .. on to my questions. :) #1. How is speed on more stressful titles? Things that are mid-90's or newer, not older things like 8-bit titles. Maybe things like NeoGeo.
#2. Is NeoGeo un-broken yet? I noticed posts in 2003 where no NeoGeo game ran. It's been quite some time now, so it'd be cool if it worked. A primary reason I'd want to play MAME on my PocketPC is Blazing Star, the Metal Slug titles and Puzzle Bobble.
#3. Is there the possibility of playing Cave titles (cave.c driver) supported by MAME versions >0.36? e.g. Dodonpachi (ddonpach.zip), Donpachi (donpachi.zip), ESP.Ra.De (esprade.zip), Guwange (guwange.zip), Dangun Feveron (dfeveron.zip)? Or perhaps the strikers titles, e.g. Strikers 1945 (s1945.zip, s1945ii.zip and s1945iii.zip). Most of these run on the MC68000 processor at about 16 MHz with a YMxxxx series audio synth.
#4. What games not supported by 0.36 are added by MegaMAMECE3? Is there a proper list? How about a list of working titles? I have a list of 0.36 games, but that's not too useful as I have no idea what drivers were enabled in MEGA'.
#5. What is entailed in backporting newer drivers from modern versions of MAME to work in MAMECE3 / MegaMAMECE3? I have knowledge of C, but not much of the MAME source code.
