No one has written a MIPS-ASM 68000 emulator yet, and I don't expect it to happen any time soon either.
There's room for a few more minor tweaks; but at this point
it's gonna take a Herculean effort to make any useful improvement in MAMECE's performance.

More likely scenerio is that the next generation of devices has 'nuff power to emulate the hardware used for many mid-to-late-80s arcade games in MAME.
