SubjectHelp Again - marconelly Reply to this message

I asked last week about how to reconfig the buttons - I downloaded do nothing and have that assigned to the record key. I'm able to get into the mame menu and configure the
individual games. They don't save this configuration. In addition, if I try and configure the Keys (defaults) and push the recorder button, I receive an error message that says "Fatal Application Error - Application MAMEBoy.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

Exception: 0xc0000005
Address: 01fc5278 (then a square) Fatal - Application Error

If you can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would appreciate it.

They don't save the config? Weird... Where do you keep MAMEBoy (which folder, give me exact path)
Have you tried assigning Record button to start menu and start menu button to something else? I have record button assigned to start menu and when I press it while MAMEBoy is running, start menu does not pop up and the button is working nice. I'm pretty sure that if you do that you'll at least be able to use record button as a main fire button.

Do you have the latest MAMEBoy executable? I know that problem was there in version 1.0 but it should not happen in 1.2

I have Mameboy on a storage card in a directory called mameboy. I also have the cfg/roms/hi directories in the same mameboy main directory. I'm not having trouble once I configure each game to play it, however it won't stay as a default for the individual game, and I can't set a default for all games. Any more ideas? I really appreciate your help.

OK, now you're almost there! All you have to do is to move 'cfg' and 'hi' folders from

\storage card\mameboy\

to

\program files\mameboy\

That way you will have two mameboy folders. One in the program files, which will contain cfg and hi folders, and one on the storage card which will contain executable and roms. That way your settings and high scores will be saved!

When exactly do you get an error message? When configuring individual games or when configuring default keys?

If you've moved cfg and hi folder to program files\mameboy you can freely configure individual games and the settings will be saved. There is no need to configure default keys if that's what makes problems on your machine

I got it working - still not sure why it was giving me the error message, it works great - i had to set the insert coin button to my up arrow - can't wait to see what additional improvements come up - It makes having an E-115 all worth it! Thanks again!!!!

No problem! Glad it all worked at the end. Can you tell me exactly what you did to make it work. Did you used 'do nothing' program or have you assigned record button to start menu? I also understand you can configure individual games, but MAMEBoy crashes if you try to change global config, right?

I have it set to menu and the button above to do nothing. I have set it to a global configuration and it works. I changed to coin button to the b button and everything works. The only problem is that in a game evertime I hit the b button it adds a credit. Who cares it works great. I love the program. I don't play with sound it slows it down too much. I also have a problem with rapid fire. It seems that my e-100 handled this better. Even with Jimmy games I can't fire as fast. This is a fantastic program! I can't wait for your updates...more games..faster speed. You guys are awesome! thanks. If I can help in anyway let me know.

E115 has some hardware problem with rapid button pressing. Nobody has addressed this yet as far as I know...

Sure, you can help! Just read one of the threads above, where I'm asking for E115 key codes. Use Pocket NES as described and post codes on this board.
