Don't worry. From your previous post I can see that you don't have MAMEBoy in the correct folder.
You have to put MAMEBoy executable and the rest of the folders in the

\program files\mameboy\mameboy.exe
\program files\mameboy\roms\

or

\storage card\mameboy\mameboy.exe
\storage card\mameboy\roms\

folder. Only then ROMs will be recognised and loaded! Good luck.

i dont know,what you mean.please try to explain it to an amateur.my direction looks like:

So, OK, you have MAMEBoy folder in the Storage Card folder?
in the MAMEBoy folder you have CGF, HI, ROMs, MAMEBoy.exe and readme?

Did you put ZIPPED ROMs in the ROMs folder? Basically, all you have to do is download .zip files from www.mame.dk and copy them to ROMs folder without unzipping.

If you did all that (and from your post I'd say you did) and it still doesn't work, that's really, really, strange.

Which games do you have in the ROMs folder? Can you explain me the exact process of copying the MAMEBoy files to your EM-500, just the way you did it?

i send the files to the folder "my documents" on my desktop.from there active sync puts the files automatically to the "my documents" folder on my em500.the same with the zipped roms,i have loaded down from www.mame.dk.i tried to play them from this folder,nothing.i copied them from this folder on my em500 to the storage card,piece for piece,nothing.the games are mspacman,galaga,ckong and 1942.
please help me!

Don't do that. Here's what you have to do:

0. Delete MAMEBoy completely from your EM-500 with all ROMs and everything.

1. Unzip MAMEBoy archive and make sure to preserve the folder structure.

2. Go to a folder where you unzipped archive. There will be four folders inside: E115, E125, EM500, Today Banner.

3. Go to EM500 folder. There will be MAMEBoy folder inside.

4. Now connect your EM-500 with your PC and after it's connected, double click on 'My Computer' Icon on your desktop.

5. Double click on the Icon 'Mobile Device'

6. Now, as you can see, you can browse thru folders on your EM-500 just as you would browse them on your local hard drive. No need to use My Documents syncing method, this gives you some real control over your files.

7. Double click on My Pocket PC icon and then double click on Storage Card Icon. Contents of your MMC card will be listed.

8. So far you should have two windows open on your desktop: One displaying only MAMEBoy folder and the other you just opened with contents of your MMC card.

9. Now just drag MAMEBoy folder and drop it to a window where your MMC content is listed. Make sure you drop it into an emty space in the window, not over any of the existing folders. Copying will start and after a minute you will see MAMEBoy folder on your MMC card. Double click on it, go to ROMs folder and copy ROM zip archives there.

10. Now start MAMEBoy.exe and see if it works.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with your machine or with ROMs. If you got them from MAME.dk they should work (some of them don't, but those you got should work)

There could be one problem. What is the name of Storage Card when you browse folders on EM-500?
Is it 'Storage Card' or is it 'Speicher Cart' or something simmilar in German? If the name is not 'Storage Card' that's most likely the problem. Also, tell me what is the name of 'Program Files' folder? Is it 'Program Files' or something else, in German?

now i know the what the problem was.every folder on my em500g has a german name.so suddenly,a few minutes ago,i thought to myself,give them an english name.i called my folder "programme" now "program files".and what happened?
the roms are there and i can play!!!!!!what a great birthday present,because its my birthday now.
maybe in the next version you can change this.one last question : are there any 3d ego shooter,like doom and can i use every rom for example from n64,playstation,pc etc.?if yes,where can i get them?thanks for this great product!

I'm really glad it works nice now. I just hope you won't have any problems with other software now when you renamed program files folder. I can fix that if you provide me the exact names for 'Program Files' and 'Storage Card' folders in German.

Emulation of playstation, n64 etc on pocket PC is highly unlikely, to say at least. Go to www.jimmysoftware.com , they have a free Pocket PC Doom for download. Their Doom works incredibly well on EM-500 :-))

i played some games yet and most of them are much too fast.
they are faster than the originals i knew from the 80s,i played in gamehalls.what can i do to make them slower?
i played mspacman,phoenix,1942,scramble and galaxian.they are too fast.crazy kong and galaga are ok.in some games you can change something in "dip switches",for example,from easy to hard,but nothing changes really.and what are "optimize flipping","optimize alignment"in the option section?and "show fps","profiler" and "tbd" on the right of the screen?

Ha ha ha ha :-))) No, they are not too fast. Start them on the normal MAME on your PC and you'll see the speed is about the same. It seems like it's fast probably because the screen is small so sprites travel shorter physical distance in the same time. You'll get used to it very quicky.

Optimize flilpping and alignment to my best knowledge are the options that would pre-draw flipped sprites before the game starts thus making game run faster. I have yet to measure if there's any real use for them but it looks like they do not bring any speed increase. Show FPS will display small counter on the sreen which will show you how fast the game runs (e.g. 100%, 90%, 80%....) and what is the frame skip. Profiler shows how much CPU time is spent on each of the emulated chips in the game. TBD is (Darren, please confirm) short of "To Be Determined" so this checkbox does nothing for now :-)

Maybe a more generic install would be better? Like MameBoy working from anywhere? (ie: MameCE3)
I mean I love MameBoy, it's faster than any other Mame emulator, but it's very rigid to install.
Think that it's also "Carte de Stockage" for the storage card in french on my EM505... I don't know about spanish or italian versions...
But spending time localising the install paths is the wrong approach.

I just (maybe wrongly) assumed it was easier to deal with install and default access path, compared to tune and optimise a complex muti-arcade emulator like Mame.

No, no! Not at all! I'm not that easily annoyed! It's a very nice suggestion, and a logical one. It's just that I have no clue how to get it done :(

Actually Microsoft decided to remove the function calls to get the default path. But you can work around it by calling a function that pull the program executable and path. You then need to strip the program.exe off the end. THats how its done in MameCE3 as well as most other commercial programs from what I can tell.
If I get a chance I'll copy the code to Marconelly.
But MameCE3 Version 9 may make it redundant ;)
I am programming in tandem (both platforms) right now and its looking ok. But I haven't gotten into the main engine and graphics yet. And that is were all the deviation will be.
