SubjectMame Neo Geo HELP! new Reply to this message

Been away for awhile...got a JPAC and Arcade VGA card...latest version of MAME...a big handful of my Neo roms no longer work???? WTF?! SS4, Aerofighters 3, and many others...I get garbled logo intro...and garbled grafix. Whats the prob? PLEASE HELP!

Some games give garbled graphics if you don't have enough ram available, although I thought it was only encrypted games. mame -verifyroms sonicwi3 will tell you if the roms are ok.

I don't see why that would give you corrupt graphics.

were changed several mame versions ago, a byte swap thing if I remember correctly. There is a utility to convert some of them, others will have to be redownloaded

Yes, the Neo-Geo ROMs were substantially changed in v0.80. I created a tool to convert them:

It is available from the RomBuild page (I added the old tool to the page just now).
