I'm having trouble sampling the sound effects from King Of Fighters roms.

I've tried FoxM1 and some other M1 front ends, and the hardware test in WinKaWaks, but only the music and the
menu sounds are stored in the main slots.
I'm guessing the punch / kick / jump etc sounds are stored on a per-character basis.

Anyone know how I can get at the ingame sound effects?
Even if it's just a way of turning the music off so I can sample direct.

Any help would be great!
