Hi all,

It has been over 1 and 1/2 years since I last posted here so you KNOW it must be bad if I have to start up all over again :-)

Anywho, I recently got back into emulation, specifically Neo Geo, CPS1 and CPS2. I have FINALLY gotten all the crcs correct in my WinKawaks set, took forever to get some of the hacks. Now it has come to my attention that there are some games that are also playable in WinKawks that are not on the offical dat file. I know there is Samurai Showdown 5 and Metal Slug 5. I am not asking for the roms, I know the rules. I would appreciate a point in the right direction in how to get these games to work right. Any and all help is appreciated. also, are Metal Slug 5 and Samurai Showdown 5 the only games that are playable or are there others?

Hey, stranger! Long time no see.

To answer politely, since you haven't been here in awhile, is no (but yes). No "official" emulator supports those games, as they are too new and still making money in arcades.

There are other ways, but it's best to ask on a non-ZTNet board.

You'll need a tool called "Rom Data Maker 1.1"
It's an emulation tool which reads roms and depending on what options you pick It'll make a .dat file which you can use the text in an asr.dat file and winkawaks loader to get the newest neogeo roms and hacks to run.

Notice how the NEO in neogeo is all upper case here's why...

Neo = Nebula
NEO = Kawaks

Try downloading and using decrypted romsets these usually work best and you'll be able to make that collection of newer games you want.
