Here's some replies to some of the accusations in Kristian's thread on VPForums:
Parallax said: ============== Chris, try looking at this example:
A person robs a store and gets caught. He goes to court and possibly sent to prison. Now, while in prison through correspondince (why I have no idea but just go with me here), the store owner and the robber work things out between themselves by saying sorry blah blah blah. Does that mean that the robber gets out of prison because of it?
No! The robber stays in prison to do his time.
I really didnt want to get involved in this matter, but his is how I see the situation in regards to your statement Chris. =================
There's one problem with you analogy Parallax and that's the fact I didn't do anything wrong by their own guidelines. There is no "robber." Regardless of whether or not you think it's wrong to use a playfield image I helped clean up FOR KC's table when we were working on it together without asking first, the FACT is that I never released that table and as of this writing I *STILL* have not released that table even though I have since asked KC to use the images (as he said that's all he wanted) and he said and I quote, "Rock On!" as his reply. He even told me ahead of time he'd OK it if I asked him privately or publicly.
Thus, I did not "rob" anyone (what I do with tables on my own hard drive is none of anyone else's business). Since I never released the table in question (and AJ himself said in the T2 WIP thread I started that got moved to the now defunct debate area that posting WIP pictures before getting permission is A-OK, directly contradicting KC's opinion on the matter in that same thread). Thus I followed the very rules AJ himself layed down.
Thus, I did NOTHING WRONG and broke NO RULES and thus what BJ is saying about me refusing to admit I did something wrong is correct in the sense that I DID NOTHING WRONG. I broke NO RULES. I flamed no one and I released no unauthorized mods or even tables with someone else's images in them.
I should note once again that AJ even has released an unauthorized mod of Addams Family in the past. He took Nicky's background mod (that applied steps to the center ramp) and released a version with it without asking me first and so I had to skip that version number. AJ has broken rules that I have not! Is AJ banned from VPForums? Don't make me laugh. It's just like when Black gave Paratech a death threat there (pretty damn serious in my opinion) and he didn't so much as get a warning because he was a co-developer of VP at the time.
Joep said: ============= Icewarm : read retrogames ,he is using my name(again in a tread ,he sais that i am holding tables for the public and that there are no updates made. and while your there read the reply's on aj letter to . ============
Yeah, I used his name to explain why I thought the people KC were referring to (the 10 developers holding up tables) might be the remaining members of VPMX. The fact remains that I was simply stating what KC told me in a PM about 10 developers and that was the list of tables he quoted (it's an exact copy from the PM). If they haven't obliterated my PMs over there they can check this for accuracy themselves. If KC was making crap up, I can't be responsible for the accuracy of someone else's statements.
BJ said: ================ But let's not forget PacDude's constant and continual denial of doing anything wrong. This is tantamount to a blatant refusal to abide by the Forum's Guidelines and this, along with his constant berating and belittling of vpForum's staff because we dare exercise enforcement in defense of this community, is why he is in the situation he is now. =================
This all reminds me of those witch trials (inquisitions) they used to have in Europe. If you'd just admit you were a witch (or a heretic in the case of Protestants), they wouldn't harm you as you have confessed your sin. But if you refused to admit you were a witch or heretic (claimed innoncence), they kept torturing you until you would either admit it or died of the torture. They would *NOT* accept the truth NO MATTER WHAT. Could it be that I'm telling the truth here and that I broke no rules over there? Heaven forbid I speak the truth! They're trying to get me to admit to doing something wrong so they can say, "I told you so." Well to hell that bullcrap!
*THEY* are refusing to admit that *THEY* did something wrong! How many people here agree with me now? How many more have to leave or be banned from VPForums before someone like AJ admits the truth???
As for belittling them, I'm just stating the absolute truth of the matter. But even if I weren't, what I say HERE should have no bearing on what I said THERE. I could have hid behind a fake name like AussiPin to protect my name, but that's a cowardly act if I ever saw one and if I weren't telling the truth on these matters, maybe I'd be worried about "my good name" being ruined by these comments. But because *I* know what I say is the truth, *I* can live with *myself* and so I don't give a shit what other people think about me. Integrity means never having to say your sorry when you're right. If I said I did something wrong just to get my access back, I could NOT live with myself. That goes against my moral values.
If I had done something wrong, I'd apologize for it, but at worst all I did was argue in public something that should have been argued in private and I'm NOT the one who started it.
I still don't personally agree with KC about the "need" to ask permission on a copyrighted image, especially one I worked on myself, but instead I asked out of *respect* after he apologized to me for making the accusations in public. And I apologized to him for my own outbursts which were unnecessary, but even those weren't personal flames and therefore NOT against the forum rules. They were simply a loud disagreement over a point-of-view regarding the use of copyrighted images that were previously in someone else's table. It simply wasn't neccessary for other people to read any of it, but once KC made it pubic I didn't have the good sense to take it to a PM because I wanted to defend myself in public against a public accusation (most people would probably want to do the same thing in such a case).
If KC had said to me in a PM, "Look I want you to ask me to use those two images before you release the table," I would have asked out of respect at that point. But he disrespected me by making false accusations about ramps in public. That required a defensive posture. What I should have said in public was, "I'm not going to discuss off-topic false accusations in public. If you want to talk about the ramps, take it to a PM please." Admittedly, that would have been the IDEAL reply, but it doesn't change the fact that he's done this twice now (once before in a R&B release thread). He also accused CollosusMania of not having the right to MOD HighSpeed2: The Getaway when it said RIGHT IN THE SCRIPT that it was free to mod! So this is a pattern and it definitely ticked me off at the time. Even so, there were NO personal flames.
