SubjectVPMAME and HotRod new Reply to this message

Hi all, love the PinBall emulation/simulation, it really is incredible stuff. I play with my HotRod as it has the two buttons on the side, like a PinBall machine However for the PinMAME games theis doesn't work as they are mapped to the "3" and "4" keys and not programmable. Therefore whenever I use the right flipper I insert credit. This is not changeable in the keys config window. Seems to be default. Anywhere i can change this or do i have to rewire my HotRod Buttons?

Cheers

I also have a HotRodSE and I wish I could use it in VPinMAME. So far I haven't found a way to set the flippers to 3 and 4 and the coins to something else, but I'm still trying to find a way. If you find a way, please let me know.

Under Visual Pinball, go to "Preferences," then "Keys." From their you can change both flippers, tilt left, right, and center, and the plunger buttons.

RELAX and just have fun.
Remember, it's all about the games.

I believe he knows that, but the problem is that 3 and 4 are hard mapped to coin inserts. Ideally all the inputs should be remappable.

Ouch!! After being here for three years, Prophet finally replies to one of my messages, and I get shot down :(

Anyway, it looks like I posted prematurely. I agree, all functions should be mappable, but it does work on some games, specifically the Williams WPC games. Older games it doesn't work on. Oops.

Heh, well here's another reply. :) And I wasn't shooting you down, just stating a fact. I would never shoot down Mr. Do, your games were too much fun to do that. Though I do think the 1st one was your best performance. :P

Well, all the tables I have seem to use 3 and 4 for coin etc. so no luck. Not a big deal tho since I'm comfortable with the key mappings I'm using on my hotrod. Plays just fine.

Ok, Make your change for the flippers in Visual Pinball and then edit S11.VBS and WPC.VBS and change these lines:

The original lines in S11.VBS:
Private Const keyInsertCoin1 = 4 '(3) Specify Keycode for Inserting a Coin
Private Const keyInsertCoin2 = 5 '(4) Specify Keycode for Inserting a Coin

To the following in S11.VBS:
Private Const keyInsertCoin1 = 46 '(C) Specify Keycode for Inserting a Coin
Private Const keyInsertCoin2 = 47 '(V) Specify Keycode for Inserting a Coin

The original lines in WPC.VBS:
Private Const keyInsertCoin1 = 4 '(3) Inserting a Coin
Private Const keyInsertCoin2 = 5 '(4) Inserting a Coin

To the following in WPC.VBS:
Private Const keyInsertCoin1 = 46 '(C) Inserting a Coin
Private Const keyInsertCoin2 = 47 '(V) Inserting a Coin

This will allow you to use 'C' and 'V' as you coin ups and '3' and '4' for your flippers.

I hope this helps... I will work on a better WPC and S11 setup for the HotRodSe when I get home. These changes were based on the latest releases of WPC and S11.
