Subjectproblem, any help appreciated new Reply to this message

It's been quite a long time since I used visual pinball and pinmame. I downloaded the latest build of both (6.1 and 1.21) but now I have a problem.

When the table is loaded, everything looks fine, except that the machine's display (pinmame) won't run or will run quite slowly, but when I press escape to pop up visual pinball's quit menu, the display runs perfectly, except that I can't access the table. When I click on the display it also works, but I can't play the table.

It's like the 2 programs aren't working together, one has to be on top and take commands while the other one is on the background just sitting there. Note that I downloaded the latest version of some tables to be sure that it wasn't the problem.

Any idea what could cause this? I'm running winxp pro with direct x9, latest detonator drivers, yakkidiyakyak....

Just a guess, but if you don't have the latest VBS scripts (3.10) already, try downloading and unzipping them into your tables directory to see if that fixes things.

You can find them here, in the Essential Files section:

Over 4 megs worth of zipped fonts! Oh boy, I downloaded only 2-3 back then. Anyways, I did not have the latest scripts, just installed them but it didn't solve my problem. At least now I have a few possible problems solved!

edit: I installed the other version of pinmame, after all it says that if you got problem with the one I have, try this one, and guess what, problem fixed, woohoo, welcome to the jungle baby! :)

Too bad this version doesn't support sound in the smb machine :(

I believe I have faced the same problem when I tried to install VP to my friend's machine. It was easy to fix though.

Read it here:
