SubjectWhat's the BEST pinball simulations on computer? new Reply to this message

I was wondering what you all think is the best pinball simulations available on computer? PinMAME is great and all, but personally I think Empire's Pro Pinball series is the best. You could test every facet of the pinball machine, from solenoid tests to slope, and even the playfield wear!

Micro$oft's Pinball compilation isn't too bad either. What do you all think?

I completely agree with you. I have the "Fantastic Journey" table and i doubt a pinball simulation could ever be better than that!

But if we talk about gameplay, i must say Psycho Pinball (c) Codemasters is the one i've enjoyed most.

What about the rest of the Pro Pinball tables? Are they as hard as Fantastic Journey? (damn hard table! LOL)

Fantastic Journey is by far the most difficult table. I have all four Pro Pinball tables (Timeshock!, Big Race USA, and The Web), and they're all easier than FJ. The best one in my opinion is Timeshock- the gameplay is spot on- I rank it right up there with the best real pinball tables. If you buy it in its original box, the manual looks and feels like a real pinball owners manual as well- it's really cool if you really like pinball and don't want to spend $6000 on a real one. I use my HotRod SE joystick side buttons as the flipper controls.

I'll have to try Psycho Pinball. Can I buy it somewhere?

Okay thanks! I'm gonna try Timeshock, hope i can find it somewhere.
I doubt you'll find Psycho Pinball on sale, it's very old! But try downloading from an abandonware site, e.g. http://selvacamaleon.metropoli2000.com/abandon/psycho.html

I always liked Pinball Illusions - MS Pinball Arcade is as good too.

Pinball Fantasies ranks high up too - note I'm considering all factors such as audio, visuals, tables, etc. - not just good pinball physics.

For some silly reason the Pro Pins made after TimeShock don't seem to support game controllers as well...
The last Pro Pin wouldn't even let me use Joystick # 2 0r #3, just Joystick #1! :(

There's a good pin trilogy with Eight Ball Deluxe / Royal Flush and Tristan as well... I like them...Maybe I can find some way to grab the piccy from Royal Flush, but it's DOS :(
