Yes you can change the game's settings.

For the wpc era games (1990 and forward), use the 'end' key to open the coin door.. Sometables it's automatically left open. Use the 0 key to go into test mode. From there, navigate(up/down) with 8 and 9 keys.. 7 key acts like a
cancel. These keys simulate the buttons on the coin door of the real pinball game. You set the adjustments, in the "Adjustments" menu, which usually allows changing # of balls..

Free play, can not be changed on *some* roms, ie TZ9_4H, and AFM 113. Those were "home" only versions released to collcetors, and to prevent them being used in arcades the developer made it free only always!
