A "Bang Back", similar to a "Death Save", is a method by which you can sometimes get your ball back from the left or right outlanes. On some machines this is pretty easy, while others it's really difficult, and it depends mainly on how solid your pin's stands are and how sensitive the tilt mechanism is.
To do a Bang Back in real life: Your ball may be rolling down the left outlane. In that case, hold the left flipper up and, with your other hand, deliver a sharp, fast hit against the front of the machine. BE REALLY CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO THIS! If you do it wrong, you can seriously mess up your wrist! It will take some practice, but if you do it properly, the ball can be knocked back up onto the right flipper.
In the support VBS files for WPC, S11, etc., Bang-back support was implemented by simply nudging the machine by a large value. There's some randomness to it now, and it can set off the simulated tilt mechanism in most machines... so use it wisely.
